It might be difficult to put yourself out there socially if you are introverted or shy. To meet new acquaintances, you don't have to be naturally extroverted or the life of the party. Concentrate on others rather than yourself. The key to connecting with others is to demonstrate an interest in them. When you are really interested in another person's ideas, emotions, experiences, and views, it shows, and people will respect you for it. You will create many more friends if you demonstrate your interest rather than attempting to persuade others to like you. Stop attempting to connect if you are not really interested in the other person.
