Steampunk City Art

In 2006 and 2007, the artist collective Kinetic Steam Works[50] brought a functional steam engine to the Burning Man event. [51] Sean Orlando, a founder member of the organization, developed a Steampunk Tree House (in collaboration with the Five Ton Crane Arts Group[52]) that has been presented at a number of events. [53] [54] The Steampunk Tree House is currently permanently erected in Milton, Delaware's Dogfish Head Brewery. [55] The Neverwas Haul is a three-story, self-propelled mobile art vehicle designed to seem like a Victorian mansion on wheels. Shannon OâHare designed it, and it was created by volunteers in 2006 and shown during the Burning Man event from 2006 to 2015. [56] When completely constructed, the Haul had a peak speed of 5 miles per hour and needed a crew of 10 people to operate properly. The Neverwas Haul is now residing at Obtainium Works, a "art automobile factory" in Vallejo, CA owned by OâHare and home to numerous other self-proclaimed "contraptionists." [57]
