I have a few hypotheses as to why he did it - I wrote this as a response to something else, so I'll just be lazy and copy and paste it here.

It might be, as some have said, to keep him from getting into a fight with Eto. Or it may be to keep him safe from the CCG. Given that the building is surrounded by CCG - I know the CCG has lost some serious fatalities, but I believe it might still be difficult to get out - claiming possession of him, like he did Hinami, gets him through the CCG and, in particular, Arima alive. Putting him in Cochlea also means he'll be able to bring Hinami and Tsukiyama out together at a later time. Or maybe he simply thinks of his former friends as Pokemon. Banjou, beware, he'll capture them all.

Tokyo Ghoul Shuu Tsukiyama X Reader

Hello there (name). How did your appointment go? His inquiry was so direct that all of your preparation to inform him was thrown out the window. Everything went swimmingly, love. As I already said, there is nothing wrong with me. I'm simply... you paused, unsure whether you could bring yourself to speak those words.

Because he didn't want to murder you. He was just interested in keeping you. And kiss you again and again, exactly as he's doing now. He let you try the sweet he'd concocted, but his tongue quickly took over and ensnared yours, assuring you wouldn't forget it. His hand stroked down your hair, catching and clenching several strands between his fingers.

What about the middle? Hmm, must have been about the time you began opening up to me. When you timidly inserted the senpai after my name, with an uncertain expression on your face. Yes, the middle was definitely those moments when you used to utter my names simply because you felt like it, but you didn't have anything to say. When you could play with me in your modest flat, simply chatting and laughing. Is this the end? No, it hasn't happened yet. Before then, there is one more stage. The most crucial and perplexing.

The anime directly tackles the grey area of morality with Kaneki, which drew a large number of admirers. However, there were a number of characters that were underutilized in the anime, causing many fans to detest or even despise them for both legitimate and petty reasons.

When Tsukiyama suffers from serious depression later in life, she continues to assist him in the hopes of making him 'interesting again.' She is prepared to face incarceration and possibly death at the hands of the CCG in order to assist him. Hori uses the Japanese honorific "-kun" to address Kanae. Hori and Kanae are both related to Tsukiyama, although they are not on good terms. Kanae looks down on this human girl and refers to her with derogatory terms such as "stray rat," "guinea pig," or German profanities. Kanae looks to be envious of Hori's friendship with Tsukiyama. Despite the fact that she has been assisting Tsukiyama through his terrible melancholy, Kanae is not thankful and even threatens to murder her. Hori, on the other hand, sees through his motives and easily outwits him, adding to his contempt towards her.

Kanae afterwards dashes out of the home, gripped by emotion. He thinks the word hass (hatred) repeatedly till he runs into a tree. Kanae, frustrated, continually bangs his head against the tree until he falls and thinks of everything he despises, including Chie Hori, Ken Kaneki, Haise Sasaki, and even his own allegiance. Nimura Furuta wanders about a lonely place pretending to be intoxicated and insulting his employer until Matsumae and her harvesting party come. Shiki Kijima, Taishi Fura, and other detectives are closing in on them. Shiki notices how effective he is as a decoy. When they understand it's a trap, Matsumae constructs a kagune wall and they try to flee. Hairu Ihei, who is blocking their route, simply breaks through the barricade.

Remember, Ghouls do not recover like humans - stabbing someone till they vomit blood may sound excessive (and it is), but it is probably the Ghoul equivalent of knocking someone unconscious. I would admit, though, that depending on how this all plays out, it is most likely a shady move. That's a far way from wanting vengeance on Tsukiyama or not caring about him at all. Honestly, all Shuuneki shipping goggles aside, I doubt Kaneki has any malice for Tsukiyama. It simply doesn't work in this situation.
