I'd go outdoors just after a storm. It always seemed wonderful or new, whether it was the air or the fresh layer of snow. But, as lovely as it is, the snow begins to melt. And then you find yourself standing in filthy slush, frozen and unable to feel anything. But, given enough time, even that fades away. The earth thaws, the days lengthen, and, as if you couldn't believe it, you begin to feel again. It never ceases to amaze me.
