Anyone who read early MHA or seen the first season of the show knows how significant those two were. They were Deku's greatest buddies, and he spent the most of his time with them. Iida's tale also reached a high point with Stain, in which we saw him at his lowest point and watch him overcome it with the support of Deku and Todoroki. But he has never been mentioned again in the tale after that day. Even the amount of time he spends with Deku has decreased, and he has been supplanted as Deku's new closest friends by Todoroki and Bakugo. I know some of the extras claim he and Deku are "kicking pals" and practice together, but we've never seen it. Uraraka, on the other hand, has never truly had her own storyline, unlike Iida. We haven't seen much of her other than coping with her "feelings" for Deku, which is rather standard. Nothing ground-breaking here. I believe the Overhaul storyline was when it truly began to illustrate how unimportant she was, and since then she's got very little screen time. Midoriya has a crush on Uraraka, most likely as a buddy. Even if he has love emotions for her, they are unlikely to be together anytime soon.
