Percy has also traveled with Tiny Bob, a small calico kitty named after Bob the Titan. Small Bob was produced by mistake by one of Atlas' slaves while trying to call a bunch of spartoi. When Percy is imprisoned in Tartarus during The House of Hades, Annabeth, Bob, and he discover and travel with a kitty. He is fond of Bob and protective of the traveling party, prompting Bob to refer to him as "a nice monster." Small Bob has the ability to morph into a full-sized saber-toothed tiger at command, and he can also appear as an x-ray for a few seconds at a time. His purr is very loud for a cat of his size.
