She recommends that people with âadvanced intermediateâ skills apply for the project. âThere are techniques required (working in the round on smaller double-pointed needles, short row shaping, and a variety of increases and decreases) that beginner knitters may find intimidating,â she says, âbut the nice thing is that, unlike a larger project such as a garment or blanket, the gratification of completion comes much sooner. âKristina McGowan, an artist, has designed a knitting pattern based on the children's book series Frog and Toad.
