We believed it was acceptable to list the greatest Black anime characters of all time in a medium dominated by light skinned characters. If this list demonstrates anything, it is that more Black anime characters are needed! To be clear, there are some very fantastic Black anime characters; we just do not see them enough, and certainly not in prominent parts. Can you identify ten Black anime characters off the top of your head before scrolling down to the list below? While diehard fans may reply yes, the majority of us find it rather tough. There is, of course, Afro Samurai and his fictitious sidekick Ninja Ninja, but you would be hard pushed to find any anime series with a Black protagonist. While there are some very memorable characters, such as Yoruichi in Bleach, this is just not enough! In any case, we'd want you to vote below for your favorite Black anime characters.
