Attack on Titan (Japanese: é2® äoo Hepburn: Shingeki no Kyojin, lit. âThe Attack Titanâ) is a Japanese manga series created by Hajime Isayama. It is set in a mythical world where mankind lives inside regions encircled by three massive walls that protect them from Titans, monstrous man-eating humanoids. The anime follows a group of youths who live within cities encircled by three massive walls that defend the last remnants of mankind from monstrous humanoid âTitansâ who consume humans for no apparent reason. The outer wall is penetrated one day by a huge Titan, and countless die as a result of the assault, including Eren Yeager's mother. The show then follows Eren as he decides to join the military in order to kill every Titan he comes across.
Giants almost wiped off mankind some hundred years ago, according to the manga. Giants are often many storeys tall, seem to have no intellect, consume humans, and, worst of all, appear to do it for enjoyment rather than as a source of sustenance. A tiny proportion of mankind survived by walling themselves in a city surrounded by walls higher than the tallest of giants. In the modern day, the city has not seen a giant in over a century. Elen, a teen, and Mikasa, his foster sister, witness something awful as the city walls are shattered by a super gigantic who emerges out of nowhere. As the lesser giants swarm the city, the two children watch in terror as their mother is devoured. Elen pledges to assassinate every single giant and exact vengeance on all of humanity. It is a strange eternal creature that has been sent to Earth with no feelings or personality. It may, however, take the form of people around it who have a strong urge. It seems to be a spherical at first. Then it takes on the shape of a rock. It inherits the moss when the temperature decreases and snow falls on top of it. When a lone, wounded wolf passes by and lies down to die, it assumes the shape of the animal. It eventually awakens and proceeds to travel the desolate tundra until it encounters a boy. more info
